What Are Divine Feminine Archetypes?
Divine feminine archetypes offer different symbolic expressions of qualities, roles and ways of being that we can recognise within ourselves.
You may be drawn to the Mother, Warrior, Priestess, Queen or Wild Woman, for example, at different points in your life.
I don’t see an archetype as a fixed identity or something that determines who you are.
Instead, I use archetypes as a framework for exploration.
An archetype can give us a different lens through which to consider our choices, relationships, patterns, strengths and the parts of ourselves we may be ready to understand differently.
Sometimes an archetype immediately resonates.
Sometimes it challenges us, and sometimes it gives us a really good question to sit with.
Why Work With Divine Feminine Archetypes?
What I enjoy about archetypal work is the chance to explore different aspects of ourselves without making one of them our entire identity.
The Queen may bring our attention to leadership, self-respect or personal authority.
The Warrior might invite us to explore courage, boundaries or action.
The Student may bring curiosity and openness to learning.
The Teacher can prompt questions about knowledge, responsibility and how we share what we’ve learned.
The Wild Woman might bring our attention to freedom, instinct or the parts of ourselves that don’t fit neatly into other people’s expectations.
There isn’t one correct interpretation of an archetype.
Rather than asking ‘What does this archetype say I am?’, I prefer questions such as:
What does this archetype bring to my attention?
Which of its qualities resonate with me?
Which qualities challenge me?
What might I explore through this archetype right now?
That keeps the archetype as an invitation rather than an answer about you.
Divine Feminine Archetypes in My Intuitive Work
Archetypal work sometimes shows up in my intuitive practice.
When I’m working intuitively, an archetype may come strongly to mind alongside particular imagery, words, qualities or themes.
I experience this as channelling.
My spiritual understanding of channelling is grounded in interconnectedness rather than the idea that I’m necessarily communicating with a completely separate external being.
But that’s my framework for understanding the experience.
When I share something intuitive with a client, I don’t expect them to adopt my interpretation or believe that an archetype has delivered an unquestionable message about their life.
Instead, I can share what came through, and we can explore it together.
You might recognise something in it immediately.
You might interpret it differently.
Or it might not feel relevant at all.
You get to decide.
The Divine Feminine Archetypes I Work With
Some of the archetypes that most commonly appear within my work include:
- Maiden
- Mother
- Maga
- Crone
- Wild Woman
- Warrior
- Teacher
- Student
- Wife
- Alchemist
- Priestess
- Queen
- Goddess
You can explore each through different qualities, expressions, and questions.
We’re not limited to a single archetype.
Different archetypal qualities may become interesting or relevant at different times in our lives.
An Example: The Queen Archetype
The Queen is an archetype I associate with qualities such as leadership, self-respect, vision, personal authority and the willingness to take responsibility for our choices.
Below is an example of a Queen archetype message that came through during my intuitive work.
I share it as an example of how archetypal channelling can sound in my practice, rather than as a universal message from the Queen archetype.
Divine Feminine Queen Archetype — Channelled Message
Sit up and take notice. Take notice of yourself for a change. You’re a damn queen, and it’s about time you started acting like one. Give yourself permission to dream, then take action and make it happen. A queen doesn’t sit back waiting.
A queen knows what her heart needs and brings her vision to life. She dares to dream big because her dreams are visions brought to life. She takes inspired action, and in doing so, others follow her lead.
Aren’t you tired? What you are doing is no longer working. Are you here to wallow in self-pity? No! You are here to take on the world in your unique way. If not now, when? I call you into this queen energy. Stand tall, stand proud, stand on your own damn feet, and let the world know you have arrived!
Your passion and joy will lead the way. Stop questioning and doubting yourself. The queen is unconcerned with trivial matters. She walks with determination, confidence, and a spark that ignites her fire. She doesn’t use this fire to burn people along the way. Instead, she lights the way for others so they dare to walk their chosen path.
Take action and take it now. Put your damn crown back on. Be willing to be the queen that you know you are.
When you read something like this, you don’t have to accept every word as an instruction.
You can notice what catches your attention.
Perhaps it’s the invitation to take yourself more seriously. Perhaps it’s leadership. Maybe it’s confidence, action or the relationship you have with your own authority.
Or perhaps none of it resonates.
That’s useful information too.
Exploring Archetypes for Yourself
You don’t need someone else to channel an archetype for you in order to work with archetypal themes.
You could choose an archetype you’re curious about and ask:
What qualities do I associate with this archetype?
Which of those qualities already exist within me?
Which feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar?
Are any of my ideas about this archetype inherited from family, culture or other people’s expectations?
What would expressing this archetype in a way that feels authentic to me actually look like?
You could explore the questions through journalling, meditation, artwork or simply reflection.
The point isn’t to become the Queen, Warrior, Priestess or any other archetype.
It’s to notice what exploring that symbolic lens helps you understand about yourself.
Archetypal Work With Jade
Archetypal imagery and themes may arise as part of the intuitive work I offer within Online Intuitive Energy Healing.
If an archetype comes into my awareness, I can share what I’m noticing, and we can explore whether any part of it feels meaningful or relevant to you.
I bring the intuitive observation.
You retain the authority to decide what it means for you.
